Phoenicopterus roseus

It can be seen in Atanasovsko Lake near Bourgas.

It doesn't mate in Bulgaria ,but zoologists say that it is possible that in the 19th century may have been two or three colonies near the sea-coastal lakes of Black sea and the salt lakes along the coast

The preservation program was started in 1962, and the fee for a damaged, killed or captured flamingo is €76, but this is too small price for so precious animal so there is a proposion for doubling the fee.

Some of the places where it stays for few days during the long flight on the mograting way Via Pontica are Atanasovsko lake and lake Poda.
